Skin cancer surgery

Skin cancer surgery is a core part of Dr Lisa Ellis’ reconstructive practice.

She has extensive experience in the assessment, excision, and reconstruction of skin cancers, with a strong focus on achieving both oncologically sound and aesthetically appropriate outcomes.

The face, head, neck, and hands are common sites for skin cancer and require careful surgical planning due to their functional and cosmetic importance.

Dr Ellis applies reconstructive principles to restore form and function, tailoring each procedure to the location, size, and depth of the lesion.

Patients are guided through the diagnosis, treatment options, and reconstructive plan to ensure they feel informed and confident at every stage of care.

Dr Ellis holds public hospital appointments at Peninsula University Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, where she is involved in the management of complex skin cancer and oncological reconstruction.

Hand surgery

Hand surgery requires a detailed understanding of anatomy, biomechanics, and function. Even minor injuries or conditions can significantly affect daily activities, work, and quality of life.

Dr Lisa Ellis has broad experience in hand surgery, managing both acute injuries and chronic conditions. Her reconstructive training provides a strong foundation in restoring movement, strength, and sensation while minimising scarring and stiffness.

Each treatment plan is developed with careful consideration of the patient’s functional needs, occupation, and lifestyle. Dr Ellis prioritises precise surgical technique and structured rehabilitation to support optimal recovery and long-term outcomes.

She works closely with allied health professionals to ensure continuity of care from surgery through to rehabilitation.
